A basic question for those getting interested in hyaluronic acid-based treatments. Before I give you an answer, here’s the premise: not all products and treatments are the same.
Hyaluronic acid: when it comes to how quickly it delivers and how long its results last, keep in mind such variables depend on whether one chooses a filler, a linear hyaluronic acid- or a hybrid hyaluronic acid-based injection.
When using a filler, that is a cross-linked hyaluronic acid, the aesthetic result is immediately apparent; its duration, however, will not only depend on the quality of the product, but also on the specific person’s skin’s ability to degrade it.
Linear hyaluronic acid
In the case of linear hyaluronic acid injections, the results’ duration and timing are different: the first results are visible after at least three or four weeks; additionally, this type of injection is performed in cycles, i.e. repeated at regular intervals, in order to consolidate and maintain its results.
Hybrid hyaluronic acid
With hybrid hyaluronic acid-based injections, initial treatment consists of two sittings one month apart; in terms of results, one will observe a continuous improvement in superficial- and deep hydration and in the profile of wrinkles for up to six months after the first injection cycle. In this case, defining the duration of the treatment’s results is somewhat uncertain due to the particular characteristics of the product.
Know what you wish to achieve from the treatment.
When undergoing a hyaluronic acid-based treatment, you need to know what you’re wishing for. If your problem is a hollowed-out area of the face and you’re seeking immediate results, the answer will certainly be a filler, i.e. a cross-linked hyaluronic acid.
If, on the other hand, your wish is to achieve a general glow-up of your facial skin, then linear hyaluronic acid injections will be more suitable, and its results will be more visible over time.
